IFCA

There are many who are unsure who writes the various wiki entries amongst this site, as they are quite beyond what most of the members could write -if there forum posts say much about them-, but it is quite interesting.

IFCA is a forum that was started by Koopler. It has been around since the summer of '06 and has gone from a small Nintendo based forum to a large general gaming forum with a very nice community. Though the community is smaller now, we're still a good one.
History

In 2006, Koopler decided to make a forum called IFCA for people to share Friend Codes, since Nsider (the official Nintendo forums) didn't allow them to be shared. Koopler advertised his forum like crazy, doing anything from sending personal messages on Nsider to posting bulletins on random websites. All his hard work paid off and he successfully achieved a great community which had the same passion for IFCA that he did.

Once IFCA started expanding with so many members, Koopler made a bold decision to move the forum from its free hosting site to an actual URL with SMF software instead of phpBB. After a lot of preparation and help from fellow IFCANS, Koopler opened IFCA Version 2 (or v2 as we like to call it) in January of 2007. A few members were lost in the transition from v1 to v2, but overall it was a good move for IFCA. More and more members kept joining and posting. IFCA was at its prime. At the start of summer 2007, Koopler and the rest of the staff decided that it would be a good idea to give the site a major overhaul, which resulted in installing a sexy new skin and making an awesome homepage that Koopler constantly updated with gaming information and information about the forums themselves.

During the summer and until the next December, IFCA kept going on steadily, with people posting to their heart's content. After Christmas, everyone realized that the domain was about to expire because Koopler had only paid for a year's worth of hosting. We decided to move back to IFCA v1 until v3 expired finally so we could create an IFCA v4 and continue on with our success. Everything went as planned for about a month except for one thing. V3 never expired. After talking to Koopler, staff members Strongbad007 and dakirbydude discovered that it had another whole year left and went back to v3 to prepare everything for the rest of the members, since it was in bad condition from spammers and such thinking it was gone forever. After restoring everything to how it was, Strongbad and Kirby welcomed all the members to the new paradise.

For a few days, everything was going great, just like it used to be, until one day, IFCA disappeared. After typing in the URL for IFCA, you would get the message, "OMG OMG" instead of seeing the forum index. After seeing this and not knowing what to do, the members went back to v1 where IFCA had it's lowest activity ever, getting less than 50 posts a day.

Then, IFCA v3 was back on it's feet with help from Strongbad, Dakirbydude, Koopler, and JMV290 from boyah. Don't forget Draciel :D

After a while, the end of V3 came due to Koopler getting bored. He just messed with our heads for several weeks, gave adminship to a moron and his friend, and let them wreak havoc as well. At one point, Draxor and G-Man actually took control of V3 for a little while, taking away Adminship from the other Admins. Cyberote gave back Koopler's powers, but Draxor and G-Man fixed a few of the mistakes the moron and his friend had made. Cyberote had also been made admin, but he could actually do things right.

It all led to Haseo making an site to stay downlow from the havoc going on over there. Him and Vony did lots of work and set it up, while Draxor helped Haseo do lots of the finishing touches. This is probably where Zufadt got it's most fame, and we even got Cyberote to make emoticons for it! When Haseo had some important things he had to get done, he gave adminship to Red Mage, one of his most important feats in his history of IFCA.

After a 6 months at IFCAU there talk of a new forum was under way since Haseo didn't have the time to admin the site, and we were promised a domain, so Joe a member from V3 decided to make a new forum. Joe never gave us an actual domain, but he did give us at least a small boost of activity on the new Proboards site, along with a Zoomshare Homepage that ended up never used much That was IFCAU2(V5), not much else to say. An IFCA U Myspace and Youtube account was also created in this transition process.

Afterwards Draxor spent time getting the domain name
that had been promised by Joe (albeit a free one) and spent his time figuring out Dreamweaver
and getting a hosting site. All of this led to the latest version.

IFCA U(3) (V6) is the latest version of IFCA run by Draxor. IFCA V1/4/5 are still available and there is some activity on these boards.IFCA V2/V3 is down due to Koopler not paying the money to keep it up.

Very big thanks to Strongbad007 for writing this excellent piece of work.
